The City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is a qualification geared toward those whose job comprises of factors of health and safety at a professional level. Generally, individuals whose responsibilities include hazard identification, documenting and evaluating the risk assessments, and determining preventive control measures and safe management system in company are the target candidate. Therefore, the student should have some obligation for the health and safety of others.Description

The candidate must be working in a safety responsible role and should have a justifiable degree of authority, sovereignty and approach to supportive management of their company for required evidence.Course Structure
To acquire this qualification you have to complete 7 units, 5 are mandatory units, and 2 are elective units of your preference to gain the qualification.Mandatory Units
- (Unit 301) - Ensure responsibility for actions to reduce risk to health and safety
- (Unit 302) - Develop procedures to safely control work operations
- (Unit 303) - Monitor procedures to safely control work operations
- (Unit 304) - Promote a culture of health and safety in the workplace
- (Unit 305) - Conduct a health and safety risk assessment of the workplace
Optional Units
- (Unit 306) - Investigate and evaluate health and safety incidents and complaints in the workplace
- (Unit 307) - Make sure actions within the workplace aim to protect the environment
- (Unit 308) - Review health and safety procedures in workplaces
- (Unit 309) - Supervise the health, safety and welfare of a learner in the workplace
